About us

The Rural House Pozuelo 3, an old tool house, restored in 2005. It preserves the wide original stone walls (visible in the dining room and bathroom). Very bright, with much of the restored furniture. It has a marked rustic stamp.

Casa Rural Pozuelo 3 JABUGO is located within a 40-hectare estate, in an area with the highest tree density in Spain (highlighting cork oaks, chestnut trees and olive trees). Dedicated to the production of organic walnuts and chestnuts, it has 50,000 m2 dedicated to walnut (with organic walnut harvest, certified by the CAAE). Ideal to relax and take walks to other nearby towns. It is located just 200 m from the Ribera de Jabugo road, which leads to Jabugo (700 m). The beauty of the chestnut tree stands out especially in autumn, where it goes from green to red and yellow. From Aracena, we can do the chestnut route, passing through beautiful towns such as Los Marines, Fuenteheridos, Castaño del Robledo or Galaroza (along trails recommended by the Andalusian Hiking Federation). In addition to natural spaces -such as the Gruta de las Maravillas or the many Royal Paths-, you will find architectural pearls such as the Castle of Cortegana (SXIII to SXVI), the Hermitage of Almonaster la Real (SIX to SX) or the building of Tiro al Pichón (in Jabugo), among others. Due to the central location of the Finca with respect to the Sierra, you will be in an ideal point for hiking and cycling routes.

Home
The Rural House Pozuelo 3 is an old tool house, which was completed in 2005. It preserves the wide, original stone walls (visible from the inside in the dining room and in the bathroom). It is a very bright house, where much of the furniture has been restored. A house that, like everything we offer, has a marked rustic stamp of quality. Recommended for couples or families, it has a nice porch and a large recreation area where you can walk. Pozuelo 3 has two floors: on the ground floor is the living room with fireplace and the kitchen (fully equipped). After climbing 5 steps, you enter the beautiful bathroom (with its main wall of varnished stone) and the two bedrooms. Interior equipment: In Pozuelo 3 we find ecological central heating, gas stove, microwave, plasma TV, complete kitchen utensils (cutlery, plates, pans, pots, glasses…), sheets and towels.

Heating
In the winter season -from the arrival of cold days, until it is not necessary-, you can use the heating and the fireplace. One load per day is included in the price (1 bag of 5 kg of pellets). If you need more, we will serve it (with a supplement of 5 EUR).

The pool
Shared between the three rural houses on the farm (Pozuelo 1, Pozuelo 2 and Pozuelo 3), it is 150 m from the house. Due to its large dimensions (12x8 m) and its large solarium space (250 m2), we can install up to 12 hammocks (keeping safety distances).
Restrictions:
1.- For safety reasons: you cannot enter the pool with objects, bottles or crystal glasses.
2.- For hygiene: you cannot put your pet on the perimeter of the pool.
3.- Available only in summer.
4.- People with reduced mobility may have difficulty reaching it.

Services
Parking (free) inside the farm, in front of the house.
Pets welcome (free)

Gastronomy
1.- Savor the Acorn-fed Iberian Ham, made in the area. Simply ... unsurpassed.
2.- Enjoy the European area with the greatest diversity of mushrooms and fungi in Europe. Some towns that you can (and should) visit, to get a broader idea of this gastronomic gem, are Cumbres Mayores, Cumbres de Enmedio, Cortelazor and Cortegana (all of them with strong tradition in the sector).
3.- Go to old mills (such as Zufre and Encinasola), where a delicious Organic Olive Oil is still produced.
4.- Take the opportunity to get to know the excellent wines of our region. They are wines with personality.
5.- Try the typical dishes in any of the many (and excellent) restaurants in the area.

Culture and history
We highlight the Route of Al-Mutamid (poet, musician and Arab King of Seville, who put value on this route). It runs between Lisbon and Seville, passing through mountain towns such as Aroche, Cortegana, Almonaster la Real and Aracena.

Without forget:
1.- Almonaster Mosque, erected in the reign of Abderramán III. Built on the remains of a Visigoth basilica (s-VI), it was finally converted into a hermitage.
2.- Cortegana Castle, current scene of medieval festivals. Built on Muslim remains. It seems that it was raised by the Order of the Temple.
3.- Aracena Castle, in the center of town (tip: in Aracena don't forget to visit the Gruta de las Maravillas).
4.- Aroche Castle, surrounded by a wall with 10 towers, all of them square (11th and 12th centuries).

Value added
The farm is surrounded by trails, paths and mountain routes. It is the ideal environment for long walks (on foot or by bike). In fact, many of our visitors are people who are fond of the countryside, photography and hiking, who enjoy taking a good walk in a magnificent environment.

The host
Hello, my name is Jesus. I have always been attracted to nature and dealing with people, so developing my career in Rural Houses, where I can get to know many of the clients and even become friends with some of them, is a dream come true. .

German, Spanish French, English and Italian.

Working Animals
On the farm there are sheep that maintain the fields and two mastiffs that guard the farm and take care of the sheep. They are calm animals, not aggressive at all, but they live and work freely. Keep this in mind, especially if you bring pets, as they are working animals and we cannot lock them up.
